Professional Summary
Melanie Chiurliza graduated from Florida International University's Political Science undergraduate program in 2020 with a minor in International Relations and a Japanese Studies Certificate. As a student, she worked as an Intern at the Florida Delegation, Southeast U.S./Japan Association, Inc. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she continued her part-time job at the Miami-Dade Public Library System and joined the International Rescue Committee as a Development Intern. In these positions, she has been able to obtain experience in clerical duties, maintenance of databases, among other skills. In the present, she has recently returned to the United States after more than three years working as an Assistant Language Teacher for the Kyoto City Board of Education through the JET program.

Melanie has an interest in diplomacy, especially in the continued fortification of American and Japanese ties.
